HYGIENE

MOBILE HOT SHOWERS

LAUNDRY SERVICE

This is a great place to add a tagline.

We have a Mobile Hot Shower Unit that we bring on a truck to homeless encampments twice weekly. An on demand propane water heater provides hot water for the shower which comes from a 275 gallon tank. This tank can provide hot showers for 30 individuals.

The enclosed shower stall is inside a 10x10 popup canopy for privacy. We keep a patio heater running so the the inside of the canopy will warm. We also keep a generator running so that individuals can blow dry their hair before stepping outside the enclosed canopy in to the cold.

We provide towels, shampoo, bar soap, shower slippers, toothpaste and toothbrush, and many other toiletries.

We also have a once a week laundry service for families and homeless individuals.

We provide clothes so each individual will have a change of clothes for each day of the week.

CONSTRUCTION OF A HABITAT POD

When we made these habitat pods we had 3 goals. Waterproof, Warm and Secure.  The roof and the walls are made from solid sheets of plywood so they can't leak. We used solid core insulation so it is very warm.  It will have a keyed deadbolt lock.  We wanted it secure so that people can't steal the belongings of the homeless and the women are safe from being assaulted when they are sleeping.

THE COST OF BUILDING A HABITAT POD IS $1,500

Certified medical technicians accompany us to the homeless camps to attend those with health issues.

After a physical is given by the RN to determine the person's needs, then we connect to a physician at his office with an iPad for an interview to make a more in-depth diagnose.

ONLINE DOCTOR EXAMINATIONS

Using iPads with internet connectivity to video conference with a doctor directly from the homeless encampment

HHHSERVICES.ORG First online Doctor's examination went very well! Dr Diane Hambrick's gracious manner won the hearts of our homeless friends and put them at ease.

Michelle our friend in the picture has been very sick. Her Husband Victor died 2 1/2 years ago at this same spot. Two other of our Male friends died there this year. I know Michelle was scared and the uncertainty of not knowing  what was wrong was very stressful for her. Dr Hambrick put Michelle at ease with her through examination.

When the examination was over Dr Hambrick asked Michelle is she was a lady of faith & Michelle said yes. Dr Hambrick asked if Michelle prayed, Michelle said yes, then Dr Hambrick asked if praying comforted her & Michelle said very much so. Dr Hambrick asked Michelle if she could finish with prayer and lifted a wonderful prayer.

Dr Hambrick has a wonderful way of putting our homeless friends at ease and making them feel that their medical needs are taken of. Just what they really need. She also has a very nice way of asking them to have a finishing prayer

YOU CAN BE A HHHSERVICES.ORG MINUTEPERSON AND HELP SOMEONE THAT HAS AN IMMEDIATE NEED

  1. A single mom needs medication for her child and is not able to pay for it, you can call or go online and help her by paying for the prescription A homeless person needs socks or perhaps a sleeping bag, It can be paid right from your smart phone or computer.  The person being helped will be notified and can go pick it up. This a convenient way for you to help those in need.  The needs will be posted on our Minuteperson Bulletin. We are partnering with County Social Services and other Agencies to inform those in need about this service. We are also creating HHHServices.org links with pharmacies and retail stores, so you can go online and pay for the need that you have selected, in that persons name.

  2. If you want to be involved and donate your time or have a skill that you feel would be helpful for HHHServices.org you will able to peruse the listing on the Minuteperson Bulletin Board. MINUTEPERSON

SINGLE PARENTS

It’s commonly known that many single parents struggle to take care of their families. The world is full of single parents that don’t have the support of the other parent. The single parent is in constant crisis because their many needs are difficult for them to fulfill on their own. Their daily lives are full of stress, anxiety and frustration because of they are not able to provide some of the basic needs for the children that they dearly love.

HHHSERVICES is dedicating a department for the sole purpose of helping these single parents fulfill their many needs. HHHSERVICES wants to help in every facet of their lives. There are many areas that a single parent needs help.

HHHSERVICES is developing a MINUTEPERSON support network of individuals and organizations from our local community who are willing and have the ability to help.

Many items that single parents run out or can’t purchase is one of the ways we want to help them. Simple items that we take for granted like toilet paper, bath soap, shampoo, are an example of the many items that the families go without. Services that they are unable to pay for, such as auto repair, laundry, babysitting are some of the many needs we could provide through our MINUTEPERSON network.

MR HEATER PROGRAM

Staying warm in a tent is difficult. This why HHHS has started a Mr Heater program. The heaters can double as camp stove.

There are feeding programs that feed the homeless during the week.

Because there are no weekend feeding programs the Pacific Union College Young peoples Bible class who are Elementary age has been delivering food.

COVID LUNCHEONS FOR THE HOMELSS

Covid-19 doesn't stop us from helping the needy. With everything shut down the homeless have been hurt the most.  Salvation Army used to serve lunch and the Neighborhood Table served dinner, but they are both shut down.

Without a place to get fed, HHHS has been providing good luncheons so they can have a good meal. During the week we also bring fruits, veges and other food to the homeless Encampment.

Dr Jerome Booker a Pediatrician has spearheaded the luncheons financially and cooking of the meals. Jerome is an excellent Chef and is buying 1st class meats and side dishes. The video shows Dr. Jerome, Lisa & Dawn  serving the Luncheons

Staying dry is a constant battle for the Homeless. When it is stormy and  very windy keeping a tent upright and dry is very hard.

We have started Tarp, PVC Pipe and Stake Program that can cover and keep tents dry and secure from stormy high wind situation.
